The Informer 501 was introduced sometime before October, 1986. In October, 1986 the 501E with a 1200 baud modem sold for $995, the 501C with a 2400 baud modem sold for $1,095 and the 501D with a 2400 baud modem and Microcom's Microcom Networking Protocol sold for $1,195.[1]
