He is the main force behind the creation of the Terminals Wiki and the open source rewrite of the manx web database application of computer manuals. He is a frequent contributor to the cctalk mailing list and contributes scanned material to BitSavers.

Richard has worked as a software engineer since 1979. He has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Delaware and a master's degree in computer science from the University of Utah.
