The DEC VT101 terminal is a variant of the VT100 that lacks the expansion slot of the VT100 as a cost reducing measure.[1][2] While it does not use the exact same mainboard as the VT102 and VT131, the board is almost the same, just lacking AVO and STP-related components. Unlike the VT100 without AVO installed, it does support the extended character set.[3]
