Bildschirmtext was the German variant of the Videotex set of standards.

It defined character cells of 12x10 pixels. Up to 96 characters could be user defined, in up to 16 colours per character cell. There's a total of 32 colours out of a palette of 4096 colors. Characters can be normal size, double height, double width and double size. There's a variety of blink modes. A screen is 40x24 characters in size, but there was an optional 80 column mode.
