This template embeds COinS metadata in the HTML output, allowing reference management software to retrieve bibliographic metadata; see Wikipedia:COinS.
- Do not use parser or extension tags such as
<nowiki>in fields—this exposes strip markers in the metadata; see Help:Strip markers for details. - Do not use templates such as
{{smallcaps}}or other markup in fields—the HTML output will be rendered in the meta-data.
