The CDC Vucom 3 terminal was introduced in November, 1975 at a price of $2,600 to $2,800.[1] The basic unit displays 12 lines of 80 characters, but can be upgraded to 24 lines of 80 characters. The baud rate is switch selectable. A magnetic tape cassette recorder that stored 50,000 characters per cassette was available for local storage. The terminal was manufactured by CDC Canada and was the first terminal offered for sale by CDC Canada.
